Ulysses Secrest is an independent artist based in the Short North Arts District of Columbus Ohio, they have been a practising artist since childhood, growing up in the PM Gallery, one of the first galleries in the Short North, opened by their parents in 1980. They earned their BFA from CCAD in December of 2020, before utilizing social media throughout the pandemic to gain recognition as an artist on the global scene. In recent years they have been working on restoring their childhood home, while balancing commissions, personal projects, and extreme material experimentations. Their practice primarily focuses on masks and production jewelry, utilizing casting, fabrication, laser cutting, welding, and mixed media in their works.
