Seven artists react to each other's work

Art making is often a solitary pursuit.  The results are revealed in a gallery or on social media posts, but viewers rarely get to see the creative process.  How does an artist confront a challenge, an obstacle, a set of limitations?  This show gathers 7 artists with disparate and distinct voices, approaches, and practices and provides each of them with a jumping-off point: one of the other artist's works.  How will the printmaker respond to the graffiti artist?  How will unfamiliar color palettes be combined and resolved?  Will we see traces of the inspiration in the reactionary work or will the process be completely transformational?  By juxtaposing one original work by each artist  with a second work created in reaction to one of the other artist's original works, this show will try to answer some of these questions.
